With today’s technology it is possible to upgrade an old Nurse call system in under a week. Gone are the days of engineers installing cables and being on site for weeks, as with the new Radio Nurse Call a call point can be fitted in a resident’s room in minutes.
Flexibility is another benefit, as units can easily be repositioned when necessary, and multiple displays can be positioned around the care home to ensure staff never miss a call.
As a specialist independent company for the Service and Maintenance of Nurse call, Fire and Nursing equipment we have many years experience in both fitting and servicing Nurse Call systems.
For more information contact us here southerncare.co.uk and you can also download a case study of a customer using Radio Nurse call from here or ring 01580 890089.
Our new free customer portal, mySCM was rolled out at the end of 2016 and after only a few weeks over 10% of our customers have started to use this new online service helping them save time with administration.
Customers can now access their jobs and calls as well as obtain copy certificates and invoices for all their sites in one place with a few clicks

Website now mobilised
Jane (the other one that is!)
Jane Burfoot has been with us since 2011 and has recently changed her role at Southern Care. She has now moved from General Admin Assistant to specialising in the ordering and supply of parts for the Nursing Equipment Division.
"Some of the parts we have to track down and purchase for the Hoists and Beds come from European countries. However, being in the EU unfortunately doesn't always mean that we can rely on a fast delivery to us"
In this new role Jane deals with our engineers, suppliers and customers so she has quite a unique hands-on-role and is often referred to as "the fount of all knowledge"!
You may recently have seen a new face in our team and thought you were seeing double!
Oliver Adams is the new face and understandably often gets confused with his brother Luke.
Luke Adams joined in 2010 and stepped up the ladder to Senior Engineer, Alarms Division in August 2013. Following in his footsteps his twin brother joined the team as Alarms Engineer in December 2014 - Oliver says " its great working with my brother and I am also enjoying working with a varity of different systems."
If you have not seen him yet, keep an eye out and see if you - Spot the difference!
Why don't you email us with your guess as to who is who, or post it on our
Facebook page here.

Most of the Tash's have now gone, although some of them are still stubbornly hanging around. Some were more succesfull than others but we all thank you for your support!
For those that didn't know Movember was all about raising money and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
We had a great response and managed to raise over £550 which we could not have achieved without your support. It's a brilliant cause and we are proud to have been a part of it.
The SCM Movember Team
Well it's November again next week and this year we have decided to join Movember and help bring back the moustache. Movember is all about putting the moustache back in business and guarantees some fun while doing good - raising funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
Mo Bros take action by changing their appearance through the growth of a new moustache for the 30 days of Movember, and in doing so become walking, talking billboards for men’s health. Mo Sistas sign up and commit to supporting the men in their lives while helping to promote men’s health at home, in the workplace and within their community.
The moustache is our ribbon – it’s our way of generating conversations, awareness and raising funds for men's health.

As you may have noticed, this year we have now been accredited as a BAFE registered and Kite marked company. As well as operating to our own internal highest standards and processes, these are now audited externally by BSI providing further reassurance to our customers.
Building on this we have decided to produce a series of case studies to show how and why our customers have trusted us with their systems.
The first of these is available to be read here - Install of Wireless Fire Alarm
We are pleased to announce that we now Supply, Install and Maintain the Hyfire wireless fire alarm system which is a reliable quality wireless fire alarm solution which can be used for many types of buildings including commercial, residential and industrial.
Radio technology has now become commonplace in homes and businesses and the ability to transmit secure data reliably without using cables, has been in use successfully now for over 10 years.
For more information please see our Wireless Fire Alarm page.
As most customers will probably already know, Bob pictured here on the left, was promoted a while ago to a new position of Engineering Supervisor, Fire Alarms Division. Bob joined us in 1999 and subsequently was promoted to Senior Engineer, and is well known for his shorts in the summer and sense of humour all year round!
What you may not know is that Luke, pictured here on the right is now following in his footsteps and stepping up the ladder to Senior Engineer, Alarms Division as from 1st August 2013. Luke joined us in 2010 and this months promotion coincides with the other big event in his life....his wedding!
We wish him every success in his new role both as husband and senior engineer.
Guy joined us at the end of April and fills the gap left by Andrew who left us last year to go back home “down under”. He has an electrical and fire installation background and has quickly fitted in with the team. When he is not working you’ll find him supporting his favourite team at Upton Park.
Our new YouTube channel was finally launched today and the first video uploaded.
