As you may know, Martha Trust is our Charitable Customer this year, and this weekend - 16th-19th September, they will be going Bonkers in Barcelona, raising money for this amazing charity.

Whilst 2022 saw us celebrate our 35th anniversary of trading it was also the year we wished one of our longest serving members of the team, Richard, a very happy retirement as he finally downed tools to embrace all the joys that come with endless weekends.
Richard, who joined the firm at the very beginning in 1987, has been a much loved member of the SCM family since day one and has been invaluable in the company's success. Some of our long-standing customers may even remember him from the early days when he was out on the field!
His wealth of knowledge and experience is second to none and whilst he will be sorely missed by us all, he will not be a stranger and will remain a regular to the office where he can be sure of an endless supply of coffee and cakes!

We had a successful visit to the Care Show last week at the NEC in Birmingham where we met many of our existing suppliers and some new ones too.
The event was very well organised and there were many interesting speakers, including Stuart Barclay from Vayyar Care who was speaking about ways to help residents in fall protection without the need for using CCTV.
As we celebrate our 35th Anniversary this year, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, partners and suppliers for their continued business and loyalty. The last few years, in particular, have been testing for us all and your support and commitment during such unprecedented times has been invaluable.

Although SCM has been trading for many years now, we have recently enjoyed a growth spurt. As demand for our services and products has increased, the number of team members has also grown to keep up with this increasing workload. Organising and keeping track of tasks and projects between teams has become increasingly difficult.
We started to use Basecamp a few months ago and it has provided a good solution to this problem and we are now using it as our main company communication tool. This has provided greater transparency within the company and clarity within our teams as to who is responsible for different tasks.
It provides messaging across the company, reducing internal emails to a minimum as well as a central place to hold information and documents that different teams need to work on.
As well as working in a web browser, apps are available for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android devices so our mobile users are always kept up to date with office news and new projects. It is also simple to start using and the occasional time we have required support the response has been fast.
So theres the answer, we feel we are all better connected and the whole team can see the big picture and can easily pitch ideas in for consideration. We all spend less time on internal emails to each other, less time in meetings and have more time for our customers; just wish I had thought of it first!
