29/1/2023 0 Comments Farewell but not goodbye!![]() Whilst 2022 saw us celebrate our 35th anniversary of trading it was also the year we wished one of our longest serving members of the team, Richard, a very happy retirement as he finally downed tools to embrace all the joys that come with endless weekends. Richard, who joined the firm at the very beginning in 1987, has been a much loved member of the SCM family since day one and has been invaluable in the company's success. Some of our long-standing customers may even remember him from the early days when he was out on the field! His wealth of knowledge and experience is second to none and whilst he will be sorely missed by us all, he will not be a stranger and will remain a regular to the office where he can be sure of an endless supply of coffee and cakes! Happy retirement Richard - you've earned it! ![]() As we celebrate our 35th Anniversary this year, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, partners and suppliers for their continued business and loyalty. The last few years, in particular, have been testing for us all and your support and commitment during such unprecedented times has been invaluable. Watch this space for an interesting read come September following an interview with the Founder and Director, David Knight, as he looks back over the years as we continue to mark SCM’s 35 years of trading. #scm 5/10/2021 0 Comments SCM Team Buzz Cut![]() This October the engineers of SCM will be saying goodbye to their luscious locks, or in some cases their usual bad hair days (!), in favour of a buzz cut in aid of Breast Cancer Now, a charity that is very close to the heart of many. Never more so now than for everyone on the SCM team following a colleague’s recent diagnosis. The strength, courage and never failing cheerful persona of our colleague who shows such positivity and grit during their on-going treatment has inspired the team to show their support and do what they can to raise money and awareness for a charity that is the UK’s largest comprehensive breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now. What about the ladies you say!? Well, whilst it is only the chaps getting a close shave, the ladies on the team will be showing their support on the day with some unusual hair-dos that are bound to raise an eye brow or two! Keep an eye out for updates on our webpage on Tuesday 12 October as the transformations take place! About Breast Cancer Now Steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care, Breast Cancer Now is there for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. This will provide more desk space for admin and accounts departments and should be completed by early summer. We then have plans for phase two to start which will include more room for our technical services and engineering department and hoping to have this completed before Christmas...2018.
