We are currently trying to return to normal working as customers allow us access again to their premises and thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
Many of our staff are still furloughed so email from the website or the usual addresses is the best form of communication for routine enquiries.
However, if reporting an urgent fault or breakdown, please ring our 24 hour telephone number
and we will respond as soon as we can.
SCM 30th April 2020
Southern Care Maintenance has been providing 24 hours Peace of Mind service for our contract customers for the last 30 years. However, in order to comply with the Government's latest rules announced on 23 March 2020 we are no longer able to continue offering our full range of services.
James Brokenshire (Minister of State for Security at the Home Office) has extended the Key Worker status to all fire safety personnel actively working in fire safety. Ian Moore, CEO of the Fire Industry Association has said, "Fire Engineers carry out a mission-critical job to not only fix but maintain fire systems and products such as extinguishers, fire alarms systems etc. We have real first-hand knowledge and evidence of the dangerous and potentially deadly effects that a lack of maintenance on fire systems can lead to...".
We have therefore decided to only provide essential call-outs in the Alarms Division and all services in the Nursing Equipment Division are being suspended from 1 April 2020.
Our engineers have been instructed to follow the COVID-19 precautions from the Government and NHS and have the necessary PPE equipment to do this.
We will try to provide some support by email to any messages received through our website - southerncare.co.uk and will review the situation weekly as this is a fast changing situation and full services will be resumed immediately Government's rules have changed.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused but hope you understand this is the right thing to do in the current situation in order to help protect our staff, our customers and the NHS.

If you are one of our local charitable customers and would like to be considered for nomination for 2021, please let us know.
Every year we choose to support one of our local charitable customers and this year we have decided to support Demelza Hospice Care for Children. This follows the donations our team raised for them over the Christmas period by opting to donate to the charity what they would normally spend on Christmas cards.
Demelza Hospice Care for Children provides specialist care and emotional support for seriously ill children, young people and their families across East Sussex, Kent and South East London. Over the course of a year the charity help around 750 families and because of the donations they receive, are able to provide much needed support and care to those in need so they can live a full life, with the ones they love, for as long as they can. If you would like to find out more about Demelza or would like to make a donation, please visit their website www.demelza.org.uk or go to our Facebook page where you can donate direct.
This festive season we will be donating the money we would normally spend on exchanging Christmas cards with our fellow colleagues to one of our local charitable customers.
We are proudly supporting Demelza Hospice Care for Children, a charity which provides much needed specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions and their loved ones. Every penny raised really does make a difference and enables Demelza to create precious memories for seriously ill children and their families.
